The Aquarium Age: April 15-21

By Ralfee Finn

The planets are realigning in new patterns this week, and their dynamic interactions signal another week of powerful transitions here on Earth. In the Northern Hemisphere, spring takes hold and hibernation becomes a thing of the past. In the Southern Hemisphere, the opposite may be true, but that change of season also inspires action, even if the activity is geared toward contraction rather than expansion. Change is in the air—everywhere. But please don’t jump to the conclusion that we’re out of the reach of the Uranus/Pluto squares—we are well within their range.

And for the next little while, each time the Moon, Mercury, Venus, or Mars forms a relationship to either Uranus or Pluto, that interaction will amplify the intensity of the Uranus/Pluto shadow. Yet despite those ongoing powerful waves of change, there is good news this week, especially if you’re in the mood to get things done.

Several planets are changing Signs and those shifts mirror the seasonal transitions: Venus just entered Gemini on Saturday, April 11. Mercury just moved into Taurus on Tuesday, April 14, where it will be joined by the Sun on Monday, April 20. The transit of Venus through Gemini promises to be a flirtatious phase, so don’t be surprised if you find yourself inclined to toy with or simply tease others’ affections, or likewise if others are inclined toward teasing or toying with yours. Hold the view that it’s all in good fun and you might find a way to bolster your spirit. Mercury and the Sun are both leaving the tempestuous Sign of Aires, and as they move into Taurus, the business of daily life is certain to settle down. Taurus is a deeply creative as well as thoroughly practical Sign, and the Mercury/Sun combination gives birth to the potential for applied insight that could yield tangible rewards. They are not conjunct, and that separation fosters objectivity.

Mars is currently in Taurus, and all week long it tightens its trine to Pluto, a positive and powerful interaction that will be in effect for the rest of the month. This trine is industrious and productive, so don’t hesitate to harness its power and apply it to all those projects that have been moldering in stasis, whether that inactivity is a result of neglect, disinterest, or just not enough time and money to finish what’s been started. Whatever the root, the Mars/Pluto trine signifies the potential to move into action.

Pluto goes retrograde on April 16, and stays retrograde until September 25. As Pluto retraces its path, we will retrace part of ours, specifically our responses to the multitude of changes that have taken place in such a short time.

Transitions always require flexibility, but this particular change of season requires a gentle suppleness that will allow moving from the known into the unknown without losing hope for a favorable outcome. Yes…the changes we’ve been through and continue to endure have manifested as abrupt interference with regular routines, and not everyone knows how to get back on track. Here’s some help: It is possible to return to the present moment by simply catching your breath. But the true challenge of the week is figuring out how to let go of rote responses that no longer provide the necessary vitality to handle the rigorous demands of transformation. Growing is hard work no matter how experienced you are. So make an extra effort to be kind to your fellow travelers. They may not be as skillful at handling these shifts.

Sun Bursts: If you know your Ascendant and/or your Moon Sign, read that too.

Aries March 21-April 19
Opportunities for success continue, and the emphasis is on tangible, solid financial gain. Don’t be afraid to share your expertise. Be direct when you articulate your vision of the future, and make an extra effort to inspire others to formulate similarly clear plans. Your personal success has the potential to have lasting benefit for others as well.

Taurus April 20-May 20
You’re moving out of hibernation, and by this time next week, you’re likely to feel catapulted into an alternate universe where there is always something to do and never a chance to rest. Pace yourself through this acceleration and you’ll make the most of this dynamic change of pace.

Gemini May 21-June 21
Try not to let difficulties with significant others, personal or professional, turn into polarized standoffs. Instead of allowing momentary tensions to escalate, turn your attention to finding compromises that will work for everyone’s greatest good and benefit.

Cancer June 22-July 22
Expect to be surprised by who you run into this week—and I’m not talking about bumper contact with a vehicle in front or behind you. You have a unique opportunity to form associations with people of similar sensibility who might be able to lend a hand to your plans and projects.

Leo July 23-August 22
Even if you are not interested or invested in a career, you could find yourself in a position of authority that thrusts you into the spotlight. Make the most of this moment by focusing your intention as well as your energy and efforts on accomplishing your goals, whether professional or personal.

Virgo August 23-September 22
You can frame it as dilemma of responsibilities: Do you devote yourself to your work? Or do you spend your time taking care of all the things that need attention at home? It doesn’t have to be an all-or-nothing problem, but finding a solution means finding the flexibility to compromise.

Libra September 23-October 22
Although it is not quite possible for you to completely stop thinking about relationships this week, the emphasis shifts toward finances. The focus might be on a partner’s finances, but it’s more likely to be your personal money matters, specifically how you can create greater security.

Scorpio October 23-November 21
Anticipate vibrant conversations with significant others, personal as well as professional, to stimulate a new approach to handling difficult topics. To be sure, money is one of the subjects—a topic that’s difficult for most–but there are even more delicate subjects in need of attention.

Sagittarius November 22-December 21
Read Gemini, above, and add this: Rely on your innate love of justice to guide you to solutions that are fair for everyone. While compromising on certain issues might be difficult at first, once you witness the win/win benefits, you’ll have an easier time holding true to your intentions.

Capricorn December 22-January 19
The challenge of the week is avoiding the clutches of the Brain Worm—the famous internal parasite that compulsively chews on the same information until you’re exhausted from thinking. Do whatever it is you do to manage your mental health—meditate, exercise, or engage in an art or a craft—and you’ll avoid the brain drain.

Aquarius January 20-February 18
Take or make the time to honor your need for rest and recuperation, and don’t worry about what you might miss if you take care to replenish your reservoirs. You’ve been pushing very hard, and once you are rested, you’ll have more energy and greater stamina to pick up where you left off.

Pisces February 19-March 20
While you might start the week feeling vulnerable, you’re likely to end it by taking several strong stands on what you need to feel safe and secure in all areas of your life. Make your needs known. Not everyone will be able to assist, but there are several helpers waiting to facilitate a positive transformation.
