The Aquarium Age: April 1-7

By Ralfee Finn

The lunar eclipse on April 4 is the last major astral event of the season. Some will argue that Jupiter’s “course correction”—it goes direct on April 8—is a big deal and Pluto’s “course correction—it goes retrograde a week later on April 16—is also a big deal, but I don’t think so. Well…maybe Jupiter, but only because it is a big planet that likes to throw its weight around. But truly there are no further teeth-gnashing planetary signatures until Mercury goes retrograde on May 18.

I wouldn’t be so bold as to deem the next several weeks relief, but certainly by next week, nervous systems will start to quiet down, and with the lessening of stress, the regular routines of daily life are sure to unfold with greater ease. But this week, disruption continues to agitate emotional bodies. So take a deep breath and do your best to get through the intensities.

A Sun/Moon/Uranus configuration defines the week and it also defines the lunar eclipse. The Sun is conjunct Uranus, in Aries, and that conjunction opposes the Moon, in Libra. Uranus is a freedom-loving and freedom-fighting force, and when it shares the same space with the Sun, personal freedom becomes a necessity. Many will chafe under this influence and attempt to break free from whatever they feel is holding them hostage, but it might be especially wise to keep a watchful eye on teenagers who are likely to say “no” more than they usually do.

However, because the Moon is in Libra, the Sign of relating, this amplified need for independence will probably show itself most blatantly in relationships of every denomination—marriage, business, and all other close friends and intimates. Libra signifies the need to know oneself in relation to others. The Moon represents the feeling or emotional body, and when the Moon is in Libra, the need to be connected tends to dominate. What this opposition indicates is the problem of how to handle the need to be connected to others, especially a significant other, as you simultaneously try to be true to yourself. Sometimes that’s not a problem. But for many, if not most, finding that balance and maintaining it is a lifetime’s work. Anticipate many emancipation proclamations. Listen carefully to what’s being said by you or by others, and also keep in mind that Uranus only provokes what is stagnant. Translation: Dealing with the issues doesn’t mean the relationship has to end; it simply has to shift.

Don’t hesitate to put your shoulder to the karmic wheel this week. We are still in the shadow of all that has transpired, and there is a lot of work that lies ahead. But the promise of a respite also lies ahead. And because so much depends on how we treat each other during these troubled times, please be considerate of your fellow travelers and when possible, try a little tenderness.

Sun Bursts: If you know your Ascendant and/or your Moon Sign, read that too.

Aries March 21-April 19
You’re feeling that urge for independence quite keenly—maybe too keenly, which could cause you to make abrupt decisions you might later wish had not been made in haste. Take your time, even if that means slowing down until others catch up. You are in a positive phase that will yield positive results if you have the patience to allow the situation unfold.

Taurus April 20-May 20
We can only create what we can envision, and this is your week to put the power of creative visualization to work. Take the time—or make the time—to contemplate what you would like to bring to life over the next several months. And then once you are clear, focus on actualizing your plan by feeling its authenticity.

Gemini May 21-June 21
The eclipse provides the inspiration to recalibrate your commitment to community, specifically how you want to participate at a deeper level. Be honest and realistic about where your gifts could be used beneficially, and then find a way to spend that energy where it will be of use to everyone—including you.

Cancer June 22-July 22
In many ways, the challenge is about figuring out how to balance professional and personal commitments and responsibilities. You may be fed up with being in the limelight or conversely, you may be longing for greater recognition. In other ways, the task is about honoring your need for privacy rather than apologizing for it.

Leo July 23-August 22
It’s all about the confidence to trust your belief systems, even and especially if others don’t agree. This is not about having faith in the absence of proof. You’re being asked to acknowledge the truth of your experience. If you are willing to investigate and get clear about what you believe in and why, you will fortify your reservoirs of acceptance and trust.

Virgo August 23-September 22
It’s never easy balancing the values of others against your personal value system, but it is especially difficult when you disagree with significant others about core issues—health, wealth, and ultimately what makes you happy. Of course, you can negotiate those differences to achieve shared ground, but compromise will only work if it is heartfelt and honest.

Libra September 23-October 22
Acknowledge the depth of your need for personal freedom and you’ll not only set yourself free, but you will also liberate all those people you are holding onto because you think you have too. I’m not suggesting divorce as the only option. I am advising you to be clear about what you need to feel appreciated, and then to consider how consistently you recognize the needs of others.

Scorpio October 23-November 21
It’s time to break free from still-unconscious psychological patterns that keep you repeatedly mired in the same behavior—behavior you would rather not be stuck in. The only way out is to become mindful of what triggers your response. Notice how consistently your thoughts return to the same subject, and then make every effort to change your mind by making a different choice.

Sagittarius November 22-December 21
Try something new—if just for the sake of adventure. You don’t have to give up what you love. You simply have to be willing see where you are keeping yourself enslaved to the sameness. A fresh perspective—one as expansive as your innate Jupiterian soul—will reinvigorate your desire for personal transformation as it simultaneously reinvigorates your creativity.

Capricorn December 22-January 19
Your inclination will be to hibernate, but to successfully hide beneath the covers, you will first need to quell an equally strong desire to be out in the world and be seen. As you wrestle with these opposites, try to find the solid ground of compromise. Maybe life is not an either/or situation—maybe it’s about a blend.

Aquarius January 20-February 18
Read Leo, your counterpart, above, and add this: The only thing to break free from is the need to explain your beliefs to others. All that’s necessary for you to feel confident is the power of your experience. I’m not suggesting you defy science—the earth isn’t flat and climate change is real. I’m simply advising you to be strong in what you know to be true for you.

Pisces February 19-March 20
Whether you are seeking to be debt-free or you are helping a significant other toward financial liberation, the emphasis is still on money. That being said, this is the perfect time to see where you are tethered to the notion that money is the only pathway toward liberation. If that were true, every CEO would be an Avatar and we know that is just not the case.
