Halley Jean Bruno, professionally known under the alias Cinder Ash, was born and raised in Utah and works as an illustrator and freelance artist in downtown Salt Lake City. Bruno’s work focuses on the spiritual connection between human and nature and her current project explores the relationship between the power of the natural world and the recognition of wildness within herself and women alike. Bruno’s work is autobiographical and she constructs scenes referencing images of her body in which fantastic beasts and dreamscapes surround her in moments crafted to depict empowerment and vulnerability simultaneously.
Bruno is the illustrator of the children’s book The Heart of Luminous and the comic book Dwindle. She has exhibited multiple times at Salt Lake Comic Con and FanX as well as the Urban Arts Gallery. Bruno aspires to write and illustrate her own graphic novel.
