Ask the Astrologer: May 2-8 — New paths, new partner?

By Christopher Renstrom

I am thinking of opening a business in the health and fitness industry which is completely unrelated to anything I have previously done professionally. I am excited about the possibility and am wondering about the potential for the business. I have also been approached for a possible partnership (February 28 birthday), although she may just work for a would-be competitor instead. I would love to know about the business potential as well as the idea of solo versus partnering in this venture. My birthday is July 24, 1970 at 11:32 PM.

I like the idea of you exploring other options in business now. In October 2009 Mars, the planet of gumption and drive, entered the astrological sign of Leo. This signaled to Leos everywhere that it was time to take direction of their lives. However Mars’s retrograde from December 2009 through March 2010 was very challenging (many Leos felt adrift), and now that Mars is on the move again you should feel like you’re finally ready for action.

Mars is the planet most connected to physical health and fitness. Originally the planet of warriors and soldiers, Mars also evolved to include athletes and sports champions. The whole “body is a machine” motto is very Mars. The second planet most closely tied to body and health concerns is the Moon. Yet the Moon’s attitude towards the body is nurturing and holistic and probably more in keeping with the kind of work that you want to do. What’s so intriguing about your question is that you have your Moon in Aries in the first house (the house of beginnings) and that your Moon is ruled by Mars which appears next to your Sun in the fifth house of your horoscope. The fifth house is the house of arts, entertainment, and sports. These are strong indicators that your decision to open a business in the health and fitness industry is a good one.

On May 27, 2010 Uranus, the planet of revolution and change, enters Aries. And on June 6, 2010 Jupiter, the planet of incorporation, will also enter Aries and then these two planets will conjoin on June 8, 2010. This looks like the time when you will break with what you’ve been doing business-wise and embark in a whole new direction. However both Jupiter and Uranus will be turning retrograde over the summer of 2010 which leads me to say that it will take longer than you expect to set things up. By the time Jupiter and Uranus re-enter Aries (in the first three months of 2011) you should be ready to go.

Finally I’m not too keen on this partnership you mention. The February 28th birthday puts this person’s Sun in your twelfth house. The twelfth house is the house of “secret enemies” and the fact that she might work for a “would-be competitor” just sounds fishy. Meanwhile you’re a Leo with Aries rising so you’re used to doing things yourself. If you’re going to partner with someone then this person would have to bring a lot to the table. Let’s see what happens in the summer of 2011, but expect to go it alone until then.
