The Aquarium Age: Nov. 6-12

By Ralfee Finn

We’re in the wake of several powerful astral waves this week. And as your small, medium, or large craft of regular routines hits the hard waters of these shifts, you could find yourself wishing to stay suspended in midair, rather than deal with the uncertainty of where you are and/or how to land safely after you get your bearings. For some of us, the solar eclipse of November 3 revealed a mother lode of previously hidden and difficult to digest information. Even if you suspected “all along” that something was “wrong,” being confronted with a harsh or unsavory secret reality can shock the soul and rattle its foundation—and recovering solid psychic ground could take a long time.

For others, the ongoing intensity of the Uranus/Pluto squares—whose mantra should be “grow we must”—is reaching maximum load capacity and the idea of reframing one more hardship as a “growth opportunity” is simply out of the question. Expect just about everyone to be either shouting, chanting, murmuring, or mumbling, “enough already.” But no matter how hard some of us might wish for a different astral alignment, the Uranus/Pluto challenge persists.

This week, a Sun/Saturn conjunction in Scorpio sets a sober tone. Sun/Saturn contacts are always about limitations and boundaries, but they are also fundamentally about discernment. Saturn’s critical eye, when used to its best capacity, symbolizes the ability to see clearly, unencumbered by a superfluous or secondary cause. And while the conjunction can manifest as depression or pessimism, it can just as easily lead to a deep and penetrating understanding of the many aspects of a difficult situation. Do your best to keep your head above these deep waters by refusing to indulge in negative thinking or negative finger pointing. Try not to relax into divisive judgment—blaming will only exacerbate polarization and prolong the process of transformation.

And of course, there’s more: Several emotional currents send ripples across the seas of conscious living. For the next two days, November 6 and 7, the Moon moves into a conjunction with Pluto as well as a square to Uranus. The Moon signifies emotions, and as she engages with the volatile interaction of Uranus and Pluto, we are bound to see more than a few temper tantrums or moody meltdowns. Try to be especially sensitive to children; they often feel the intensity of these planetary interactions but don’t have the language to express what they are up against. Grown ups should avoid devolving into petty arguments that are just an excuse to blow off steam. Step away from the “vehicle” and just breathe until you feel yourself settling down. Simply do your best not to get snared.

Jupiter goes retrograde shortly after midnight (Eastern Standard Time) on November 7 and stays retrograde until March 6. During this four-month retrospective, many of us will be reviewing decisions made since August 2013. There’s no need to be anxious about Jupiter Retrograde. Jupiter is a mostly benign presence, although its excesses often produce messy situations that don’t return to moderation without consistent effort. Notice where you may have gone to extremes, and let the retrograde help you to restore balance.

Jupiter’s “turnaround” coincides with Mercury Direct on November 10 (Was that roar a huge sigh of relief rolling through the ethers?), and although Mercury and Jupiter are not in contact with one another, their “course corrections” could be the source of an uneven pace. This would not be a good week to try and get something new started. If you can, wait until Mercury is moving ahead, free from encumbrances of any kind.

If you know your Ascendant and/or your Moon Sign, read that, too.

Aries March 21-April 19
You can push through, surrender to what you cannot control, or bide your time and wait for a more propitious moment. There’s no clear choice on how to handle the situation—you simply have to rely on and apply the wisdom you’ve gathered from recent experience.

Taurus April 20-May 20
There are several opportunities to clear old relationships or relationship issues. Take advantage of this opportunity by showing up, even if it’s difficult, and by staying present, even if that requires dropping your defenses, and listening to significant others without bias.

Gemini May 21-June 21
It looks, smells, sounds, and feels like a money matter and it probably is. The solution to your situation lies in how well you can organize and implement both a short-term emergency remedy and carefully constructed long-term strategy.

Cancer June 22-July 22
Treat your relationships—personal and/or professional—carelessly or cavalierly, and you will set difficulty in motion. Manage your relationships well, and you will reap the benefits of reciprocal care.

Leo July 23-August 22
Finding and maintaining your rhythm through this week’s tangled time signature won’t be easy. The stop/start, start/stop pace interferes with your desire to push forward. Rather than dropping out, make “patience” your personal mantra. Just staying on the field will keep you in the game.

Virgo August 23-September 22
Even if it’s uncomfortable, conversation is the key to your success. Find a way to approach all your interactions with curiosity about other perspective, and you’ll find a way to keep the dialogue open to positive contributions that lead to a satisfying compromise.

Libra September 23-October 22
While you may not want to acknowledge it, a crisis is brewing, internal and/or external, and it’s making you restless and uncomfortable. There’s no need to tidy up your discomfort; it’s highlighting an important issue. Allow yourself to go through whatever is necessary to learn the lesson.

Scorpio October 23-November 21
A strong urge to share the details of your process opens up the possibilities of heartfelt communication. Don’t worry about being judged. Even if what you have to say is complex, if you’re honest and you make an effort to be kind, your sentiments will be well received.

Sagittarius November 22-December 21
The Brainworm loosens its grip this week, and as it lets go, so does your need to brood about what will happen next. It’s not exactly a worry free zone, but it is an opportunity to be a tad more positive about the future, a position that bolsters your innately positive attitude.

Capricorn December 22-January 19
As unlikely as it seems, you are sharing your opinions with anyone who will listen. While this may be at odds with your natural reticence, you do have a lot to say—and lots of people are interested in your perspective.

Aquarius January 20-February 18
Be prepared for certain professional situations to gain momentum quickly—maybe even a little too quickly for you to keep up. Take careful notes about how things are developing, otherwise you’re likely to lose track of the details just as quickly as they emerge.

Pisces February 19-March 20
Take a deep breath, and as you exhale, notice where you’re holding on to any anxiety about your relationships—all of them, including family, friends, lovers, or pets. Bring awareness to that tension, and then, start strategizing about the best way to relieve the stress and strain.
