The planets align in positive patterns this week, and as they do, a thousand threads of intention, motivation, and consequence have a chance to find beneficial expression. I can feel that smile from here, because, yes, this is good news, so good, you probably won’t even notice the emotional tumult that also ripples across personal and political interactions. Daily routines seem regular for the first time in a while, and that mundane, yet much-welcomed stability, has the potential to boost an optimistic outlook. Of course there are still areas of desperate struggle, individual and collective, that require conscious effort to remedy.
Fortunately, the planets also promote altruistic action to help those in need. Use the power of the week to make a difference in your life as well as the lives of others, loved ones and strangers, and you’ll engage in the best possible manifestation of this influence.
The first source of positive potential is a Sun/Jupiter trine—one of my most favorite astrological combinations, because it is fundamentally funny. Both the Sun and Jupiter are in Water Signs: The Sun is in Scorpio and Jupiter is in Cancer. Neither of these Signs is known for being silly, but Jupiter’s presence makes up for that, especially when it works with Scorpio’s sardonic wit. Water Signs symbolize feelings, so please go gentle while mocking your fellow travelers—laughter at the expense of others tends to have lingering negative side effects.
Both the Sun and Jupiter sextile Mars, stimulating a keen desire to succeed and the physical and/or mental strength and stamina to reach those goals. Don’t be afraid to strive; even if you need to make adjustments, your efforts will be well met.
Mercury Direct is gaining momentum, and as it moves “forward” it continues to trine Neptune, another positive configuration that stimulates the imagination. Mercury represents the multidimensional qualities of the mind. Neptune is the symbol for altered states of consciousness, from the lowest forms of drug and alcohol addicted states to the highest realms of mystical experience. And when the mental might of Mercury combines with Neptune’s capacity for fantasy, anything is possible.
Mercury Direct also sextiles the ongoing Venus/Pluto conjunction, in Capricorn. This, too, is a positive interaction. (Hmmm…how many times have I used that phrase to describe this week? At least enough to make up for all the times I seem to never use it.) The Venus/Pluto conjunction began on November 10 and lasts until November 21—it’s brief, but potent. When Venus and Pluto share the same space, zealous devotion rules relationship choices, and obsession over rides objectivity. From Mercury’s perspective, conversation is the most powerful aphrodisiac—as in all that talk will actually get you everywhere. But don’t make promises you can’t keep. Uranus squares that Venus/Pluto conjunction, and its volatile influence could turn the fire of infatuation cold as ice. Remember the Venus/Uranus rule: Marry in haste; repent at leisure.
It’s a good week for making progress, even if progress happens in small increments. It’s also a great week for being generous of spirit. So when possible, add to the positive air by helping those less fortunate. A kind gesture has the power to work wonders.
If you know your Ascendant and/or your Moon Sign, read that, too.
Aries March 21-April 19
Make it a prime objective to find healthy ways of expressing anxiety or hostility. If you can avoid the temptation to unload pent up emotions, you’ll be able to take full advantage of the positive potential of the week.
Taurus April 20-May 20
The lines are open, and all you have to do is call. The difficulty is figuring out what you actually want to say. You can think before you speak, or you can trust—the most important piece of this emotional puzzle—that your intentions will be understood.
Gemini May 21-June 21
A work place situation can come to positive resolution if you’re willing to stay reasonable about your demands. Don’t worry; the situation isn’t as dangerous as it appears on the surface. But it will take time to iron out the wrinkles.
Cancer June 22-July 22
It’s a quandary: Insist on having a certain relationship issue go a specific way. Or surrender the need to control the outcome and trust that whatever happens will be beneficial for everyone. Sounds simple, but it won’t be easy letting go.
Leo July 23-August 22
Be persistent, but also be flexible, especially when it comes to making decisions and implementing policies at the office or work place. Yes, choices must be made, but there’s no need to rush the process.
Virgo August 23-September 22
More people than you realize take their cues from you and rely on you to set the mood. Be the keeper of the good attitude this week, and your optimism will have an exponential beneficial effect.
Libra September 23-October 22
You have a rare opportunity to make solid, tangible financial gains if you stay consistent in your efforts. You don’t have to accept every offer—only the ones that include the possibility of expansion.
Scorpio October 23-November 21
The gift of gab isn’t necessarily your strong suit, but this week, you’re talking to just about anyone who will listen. So don’t waste your words on what’s unimportant. Passionately engage in conversation and you’re likely to surprise everyone—including yourself.
Sagittarius November 22-December 21
Use this fundamentally positive week to reassess your finances, and try to uncover what it is that keeps you leaking money in all the wrong places. You don’t have to turn parsimonious to neutralize your losses; you just have to pay attention.
Capricorn December 22-January 19
Allow Venus to enhance your beauty as well as your charm, and rather than rule with an iron fist, rule with a velvet glove. What’s that old expression about catching more flies with honey?
Aquarius January 20-February 18
You are at the top of your game and nothing can stand in the way of your brilliance. Be bold, participatory, dynamic, and clear about what it is you want to manifest, and then hold fast to that vision.
Pisces February 19-March 20
Be gentle with yourself and loved ones, and allow the day-to-day to unfold in its own rhythm. There is no reason to suspect a negative outcome, and every reason to anticipate a positive environment.
