October 11-17 — Distant Dear Heart

By Christopher Renstrom

My boyfriend and I have been together for over four years. We adore each other and plan on marrying. Unfortunately we both have very demanding jobs that have us living in different cities. We have tried for three years to end up in the same city, but it never works out. Do you see an end to the separation, and if you do, how soon will we finally be able to start our life together? My birthday is 11/2/83 and his is 3/23/84.

The strongest pairings in Astrology are between people born in the same sign or whose signs share the same Ruling Planet. Mars is the Ruling Planet of Scorpio (your sign) as well as Aries (his). Add to the mix that he was born with Mars in Scorpio and that pretty much says that you’re mated for life.

The wonderful thing about two Mars signs together is that it creates a “comrades-in-arms” relationship. Not only do you have each other’s back, but you will push each other to be the best that you can be. Ambitious and driven, Mars is not an overly domestic planet—which is why you won’t shortchange yourself career-wise just to set up house and home. I imagine that this has been a source of tension and guilt, but you’re lucky in that your Aries boyfriend would never pressure you into doing anything you didn’t want to do. Ironically it looks like he may be the one walking out on his career when Uranus enters Aries on May 28, 2010.

Uranus is the planet of revolution and change. Its energy is restless and volatile which is why you will see people born under Aries acting out all over the place as we approach spring 2010. Now they’re not doing this to be obnoxious. What’s happening is that they feel like life is passing them by and that they need to break out in some way and start afresh somewhere else.

The fact that you and your boyfriend have been living in separate cities will spare you from most of this (although the same cannot be said for his co-workers and friends). Don’t be surprised if you get a phone call in the middle of the night from him saying that he wants to leave it all to be with you. It will be tempting to say yes (after all this is what you’ve wanted) but you need to really think through what would be in his best interests. The problem with Uranian energy when it first enters a new sign is that it brings such radical change that these changes don’t stick. They’re just too far “out there”. Moreover Uranus’s entrance into Aries next May is a bit of a false start because it will retrograde back down into Pisces in August. This reversal of energies will throw many people for a loop and I’d hate to see you get blind-sided. Trust in the timing of the planets and you’ll see circumstances line up in such as way as to bring you and your boyfriend together when Uranus reenters Aries in March 2011.
