"This isssue of CATALYST was put together under the influence of  [name of current favorite CD here],” we used to write. In years past, the office stereo kept the staff musically on the same plate.
With I-Tunes in everybody’s Mac, now, the music changes from room to room. Here’s what was happening musically at the CATALYST office as we put together the March issue:
Addie and Emma: Ben Kweller (“Ben Kweller”) and CocoRosie (“La maison de mon reve”)
Pax: Sufjan Stevens, “Come on, “Feel the Illinoise”
Greta: Noonday Underground, “Surface Noise”
John: Lady Sovereign, “Public Warning”
Polly: Royksopp, “Remind Me” (you know it as the huanting theme to the Geico caveman commercials) and of course constant companions KUER and KRCL. I give thanks everyday for both! Such gifts!
