Ask the Astrologer: Time for a change?

By Christopher Renstrom

My job is in flux. I have no car and piling bills. However there are promises and possibilities that things will be solid again although friends and therapists tell me it’s time for a change because of the personal relationship with ‘my boss’. Meanwhile I fell in love with a man who had begun talks of divorce but in a “downtime”—while I was letting him sort out his personal affairs—he found himself attracted to another woman. Heartbreak! Can you help? DOB 11/21/62 1:21am.

What I like about what lies in store for you over the next six months is the increase in fire energy that will be coursing through your horoscope. Fire energy is very bold, active, and future-oriented. This is very different from water energy which can be emotional, conventional, and focused on the past. Now this isn’t to say that water energy is bad. It’s actually quite good. Your water energy gives you your empathy, creativity, perseverance, and ability to tell it like it is. People turn to you with their problems because they know that you will give them sage advice along with a dollop of tough love. You’ve gone through hard times and survived them and your experience speaks for itself.

However when you are born under a stellium of planets in Scorpio like you were (a stellium means that you have three or more planets in one zodiac sign) then you can focus more on the hell you know than the heaven you don’t. Why? Because one of your Ruling Planets, Pluto, was named after the Roman God of the Underworld. People with strong Pluto tend to get obsessed about things and this obsession can become hard for them to give up. Obsessions are tricky because they’re based on not getting what you want. If you got what you wanted then the obsession would be over. It’s not getting what you want that fuels your passion and love and begins to take on a shadow life of its own. It’s a side of Scorpio that makes sense to Scorpios but leaves people born under different zodiac signs scratching their heads in bewilderment and frustration. Scorpios do eventually find a way to redirect this energy into something more constructive, but they have been known to spend years fostering these feelings– sometimes even decades.

But like I said before you will have a lot of fiery energy coursing through your horoscope this spring which means that you’re ready for a fresh start. You’ll find yourself getting impatient with old patterns and eager to move on. The nice thing about this is that it will be based on your decision and not anyone else’s. This will do a lot to embolden you and make you even more eager to pursue a new direction in March and April. June looks like a time when you will be changing jobs or career paths. You need to be doing something that’s personally fulfilling and that pays the bills. Your job isn’t doing its job if you’re coming home to a pile of bills at the end of the day. That’s something that they used to call indentured servitude back in the 17th century.
