Aquarium Age: November 28 – December 4

By Ralfee Finn

Clarity is the key to sanity this week and in the coming weeks. We’re in the final stretch of a long, hard year, one that has required prodigious psychic stamina just to survive—and that need for super-strength isn’t disappearing anytime soon. We just entered the season of each year when hearts and minds incline toward deep emotions, which is why it’s essential to maintain the type of mental might that supports a broad, objective perspective. Without that view, without considering the long-term consequences of all that’s been put in motion and continues to be put in motion, much of what transpires in the near future is certain to be crazy-making—and we need a multitude of sane people working in unison to correct the course of Spaceship Earth.

The good news: We’re under the influence of a Sun/Jupiter conjunction in Sagittarius, a positive alliance that began Sunday, November 25, and was joined by Mercury on Tuesday, November 27. Yes, Mercury is retrograde, and by Friday it pulls away from the Sun and Jupiter, but in the meantime Mercury is working with both the Sun and Jupiter to foster a positive mindset determined to focus on solutions. The Sun/Jupiter conjunction stays in effect until Tuesday, December 4. We love this conjunction because it translates into an optimistic attitude capable of embracing diversity, working toward unity, and staying confident.

The not-so-bad news: All week long, a Mars/Neptune conjunction in Pisces feeds susceptibility to suggestion. (Oy…those Trump supporters are going to get an earful.) This conjunction is exact and separating on December 7, and we will be completely out from under its influence by December 15. Mars is the planet that symbolizes individuation or the ability to take a stand for one’s self, even if that stand is different from what’s expected by authority figures—family, friends, or bosses. Mars is a fiery planet and it doesn’t do well in Pisces, a Water Sign, unless you exert extra effort to get moving and stay moving. Neptune is the ruler of Pisces and among other things, it symbolizes the capacity to merge or the ability to stand in another’s shoes and empathize with another point of view.

On the negative end of the empathetic spectrum, this Mars/Neptune conjunction symbolizes the ability to be too open to suggestion—so open, you might not be able to recognize that you are being sold a bill of goods that simply doesn’t exist, which pretty much translates into even more lying, projection, and other bamboozling techniques used by Mr. Trump and his Gang of Hungry Ghosts. On the positive end of the spectrum, this Mars/Neptune conjunction has the power to manifest as real altruism, the kind that does not define the needs of others as separate from one’s own. That particular manifestation of the Mars/Neptune conjunction would be a welcome contribution to the collective perspective—but we might have to put up with a lot of snake-oil ads as well.

After Mercury Retrograde ends on December 6 at 5:22 PM EST, the only planet left in a retrograde phase is Uranus, and since it feels as if it’s moving at the speed of light even when it’s retrograde, we can safely say that there are only a few more days of delays and detours left in this frustrating retrograde year. Try to spend at least a small amount of time contemplating the effect on your life of almost an entire year of stops and starts.

From a collective perspective, it’s important to use the next several weeks wisely. Contemplate how you can participate—even more—in making a difference in your world, which is really our world. And as always, remember to be kind even if kindness isn’t your first choice. It can be overwhelming to realize how many of our fellow travelers are in need of comfort—but we can all do something to help ease that condition.

Sun Bursts: If you know your Ascendant and/or your Moon Sign, read that too.

Aries March 21-April 19
It’s actually not a crisis of faith, it’s a revelation of just how deep a role your spiritual path plays in your worldview. Take this moment to heart and allow yourself to appreciate the depth of your commitment to live a conscious, aware life.

Taurus April 20-May 20
The emphasis is on making a realistic but also optimistic financial plan that will allow you to move toward stability at a steady pace. Put on your thinking cap and contemplate how you can set achievable short-term and long-term goals—even if you need to modify the plan, at least you’ll have good guidelines.

Gemini May 21-June 21
As much as you may think you know about relationships and your role in them, there’s always more to learn, especially if you’re committed to personal growth. Use the positive force of the week to gather insight into your patterns as well as the patterns of those you love, and you’ll make practical, beneficial discoveries.

Cancer June 22-July 22
Get organized by prioritizing your goals and making a flow chart to track your efforts so you can visualize how you are spending your time and energy. Once you have a clear picture of what needs to shift, set a schedule and, most importantly, stick to it. It may take time, but eventually you will see the fruits of your labor.

Leo July 23-August 22
You are in your creative zone, so don’t hesitate to concentrate your energy on various plan and projects that express the essence of who you are. And if you aren’t working on a specific creative project, keep this is mind: your life is the most creative project you are ever going to tackle.

Virgo August 23-September 22
There’s never been a better time for you to hunker down at home and appreciate your surroundings. It doesn’t matter if your home is big or small, owned or rented, or even if you are just visiting. What’s important is that you feel grounded inside and out—when we feel safe, good things can happen.

Libra September 23-October 22
This positive energy is all about the conversation—and you are talking, so say it loud, proud, and with confidence. Don’t worry about making a mistake; if you do, just apologize, correct it, and move on. There’s no time for self-deprecation, and besides, you’re far too charming right now for anyone to take offense.

Scorpio October 23-November 21
It’s all about the m-o-n-e-y, and this week there are lots of opportunities to put plans in place that will ensure you can expand your financial resources and improve, your financial stability. Seize this moment and make a serious effort to see what it is you need to do to implement your ideas.

Sagittarius November 22-December 21
Loquacious doesn’t even begin to describe just how talkative you could be this week, especially if you give yourself permission to say every little thing that crosses you mind. I wouldn’t hold back, because trying to inhibit this great force for conversation will feel like trying to keep your eyes open when you sneeze.

Capricorn December 22-January 19
You’re thinking—a lot—about lots of subjects, but especially about how to think. Yes, this sounds like a riddle, but it’s actually an instruction about how to create a positive mindset. Here’s a hint: you can brood about what you have no control over or you can choose to learn from these perceived limitations and move beyond them.

Aquarius January 20-February 18
Consider community service—and I’m not implying that participation as a substitute for a jail sentence. I’m suggesting that the planets are aligned to inspire you toward assuming an even greater role in sharing kindness, compassion, and your particularly optimistic view of what could be.

Pisces February 19-March 20
I hope you are ready to lead the pack, because whatever it is you’re working on—personal or professional—you are taking the lead. Embrace this moment; it’s not often that you get to shine in the spotlight and be recognized—or recognize yourself—for the importance of your contribution.
