Aquarium Age

The Aquarium Age: March 10-16

By Ralfee Finn

The planets are busy this week and terrestrial life reflects their celestial activity. Some of the activity is a carryover from last week but some is new. In reviewing the week, I was struck by a subtle, yet powerful pattern that starts this week, underlies the coming weeks and months, and culminates with the Solar Eclipse on August 21, 2017. This eclipse is called the ‘American Eclipse’ because its path of visibility will run west-to-east from Salem, Oregon, to Charleston, South Carolina. eclipse2017.nasa.gov/

The American Eclipse occurs at 28 degrees 53 minutes of Leo, and today, May 11, the Moon’s North Node is within a degree of that position and by Monday it conjuncts that point. The degree at which an eclipse takes place is called ‘the eclipse sensitive point” and when there is any aspect to that point, it triggers the eclipse effect. Please pay close attention: What emerges from this point on reaches a crescendo at the end of August and resonates well beyond. (Even as I write this, I am painfully aware that so much will emerge over the course of the next several months that tracking all the information will require a highly technical computer program—or maybe just a good memory and a quick eye and ear.)

One of the most interesting facets of this American Eclipse is that it falls on Mr. Trump’s Ascendant, the most visible part of his or anyone’s natal chart because it is the point that signifies public perception. Eclipses always reveal what’s been previously hidden in the shadows, and if we know anything about him, we know there are plenty of secrets hiding in a plethora of shadows. But that’s not all. Mr. Trump’s Mars is at 26 Leo 47 minutes, also well within the range of this eclipse. Mars represents the archetype of the Warrior and is closely related to the Ascendant (in any birth chart), and this double whammy in Mr. Trump’s chart could intensify the effect of the eclipse on his persona. It’s hard to know what more could be revealed about this regime, but if I’ve learned anything at all over the last several months, it’s that the surprises just keep comin’. The people who voted for him may not care about revelations of his collusion with Putin or any other ill-intended leaders looking to dismantle democracy, but what’s hidden about those interactions is likely to become increasingly hard to deny. Just by way of history: Bill Clinton had the August 22, 1998 Solar Eclipse within three degrees of his Sun. On August 17 of that year he testified before the grand jury. On August 20, Monica Lewinsky testified again. And the impeachment movement began.

One more thing about Mr. Trump’s natal chart and the transits he is under for the coming months: Saturn sits on his Moon starting in the middle of July and does not let go until the middle of September. Saturn signifies the voice of reality, and when it transits a planet as sensitive as the Moon, mood swings tend toward anxiety and depression, if only because of the restrictions and inhibitions Saturn exerts. His Moon, in Sagittarius, is one of the astrological reasons he can’t self-censor. Come on, Sagittarians…fess up…you know sometimes that waggin’ tongue gets you in trouble too.

The Mercury/Uranus conjunction, in Aries, is exact and separating today. It lingers until Wednesday, May 17, and while some may miss the excitement of this dynamic duo, others will breathe a sigh of relief as nervous systems finally settle down.

The Sun/Pluto trine is exact and separating today. It too lingers until next Wednesday, but given the inherent power of this beneficial alliance we aren’t likely to feel its strength diminishing until the contact is actually over, so continue to keep your sleeves rolled up in preparation for another week of hard (but positively supported) work.

A trine between Mars, in Gemini, and Jupiter, in Libra, began on May 6 and continues until May 19. We love this fortunate combination because it fosters harmony, and because both Gemini and Libra are Air Signs, this particular trine has the power to reach out and gather new ideas without a judgmental knee-jerk response to ideas contrary to one’s own. We need this wide bandwidth if we are to find ways to heal the vast chasm that separates so many points of view. This trine also encourages and supports all sorts of creative endeavors—so apply it liberally wherever you’re in need of a creative touch.

A Mars/Neptune square has been operating since Mercury Direct began on May 3, and this might be one of the reasons it’s been a little difficult to clear your head. Fractious Mars/Neptune interactions make it quite difficult to delineate appropriate boundaries, and in some cases this pernicious interaction generates the potential for a peculiar kind of paralysis that inhibits the ability to implement plans and projects because there is an equally peculiar lack of motivation. Try not to let this square keep you from taking advantage of the much more positive planetary interactions of the week.

As you attempt to weather the days and nights of life on Planet Earth, try to hold the broadest view possible. From a collective perspective, we have all contributed to our current situation. But please don’t confuse this view with blame, acceptance or agreement. The power of co-creative responsibility is the power of transformation. Each of us has the power to change the world, and when enough of us unite with clear and aligned intention, the truth of our power is self-evident. We are all in this together and we just need to keep remembering that.

Sun Bursts: If you know your Ascendant and/or your Moon Sign, read that too.

Aries March 21-April 19
There continue to be opportunities for beneficial agreements with significant others, all of which have the potential to yield tangible financial gain. I’m not suggesting you invest in lottery tickets. This is about a thoughtful and creative plan about how you can establish greater solvency. Have the courage to talk honestly with others and you will reap positive results.

Taurus April 20-May 20
Yes, it is a lot of work, but you have the strength and stamina to handle the load, especially the mental agility that’s required to combine a wide variety of responsibilities. Embrace the details of each venture, old or new, because if you implement an even more methodical approach, you’ll discover how to transform what you might have previously considered an overwhelming list of must-do tasks.

Gemini May 21-June 21
It is actually a communication issue—you have plenty of information to share but not everyone seems interested in listening. Never mind…keep your eye on the data required to complete your projects and don’t let anything, not even the distractions of others, interfere with your determination to deliver a job well-done. And try not to blame too many people. Lots of folks are finding it difficult to stay as focused as you need them to be.

Cancer June 22-July 22
You’re attempting to weave several disparate threads into a coherent pattern. Don’t give up, even if you run into obstacles. There may be some glitches in your process, but your internal vision of how the whole picture fits together is inspired. The good news is that your determination to do whatever it takes is supported by the power to stay steady and grounded.

Leo July 23-August 22
It’s all about the stamina and strength to follow through on various plans and projects with the clear intention to bring those projects to fruition. I’m not suggesting that you’ll get an offer or even the contract you’ve been waiting for. But I am advising you to stay focused on what you want to create because there’s enough support to help you turn those dreams into reality.

Virgo August 23-September 22
At the moment, the only difficulty you must cope with is your tendency to put the needs of others before your own. Contemplate the notion that it isn’t selfish to take care of yourself, particularly when you’re identified with being of service to others. Your actions could be misinterpreted by those you love, but if they are truly paying attention they will recognize your need for self-care.

Libra September 23-October 22
It’s confusing, especially when you play back the tapes of previous conversations with significant others in an attempt to identify what exactly went wrong in not just one but several important relationships. The secret to clarity is owning your part of the process because you are the constant in the pattern. This isn’t about blame—it’s about awareness.

Scorpio October 23-November 21
Expect a flash of brilliant light to reveal what went wrong in your relationship as well as how to remedy the damage. Don’t confuse this with reconciliation—that can’t be promised because there are too many other factors to take into consideration. But do embrace this moment of insight because it will help you make different choices the next time you encounter a similar situation.

Sagittarius November 22-December 21
Positive interactions with others have the power to stimulate a deep internal process of self-reflection, but even though this introspection is valuable, try not to let it inhibit your optimistic nature. You’re not a true hibernating introvert, which means contact with others, especially interactions grounded in creative group activities, is always good for your soul.

Capricorn December 22-January 19
In a complete reversal of last week’s need to spend time at home, this week you are out and about in the world, wheeling and dealing with all sorts of business endeavors. Have at it because there are positive openings for you to make real progress toward career goals. Just pay attention to the contrast between the weeks and then contemplate how you can balance both worlds.

Aquarius January 20-February 18
The Wheel of Life—your life—is spinning round and round, and while you’re longing to land someplace safe and secure, a few more shifts need to happen before you can come to rest. That being said…there are opportunities to establish some ground rules on how to handle the changes. Be sure to leave enough time for rest and relaxation.

Pisces February 19-March 20
The focus shifts away from finance this week toward a recognition of ultimate value. For while money is important, it will never be an accurate measure of true worth—the only thing we take with us when we die is how well we loved. Do your best to make an honest assessment of how you share your love with others, and then contemplate how your kindness makes a difference.
