Aquarium Age: June 26 – July 2, 2019

Here’s the good news: It’s not you. So if you’re thinking that life is getting crazier and crazier, you’re right; it is. It’s not just that the inmates are running the asylum. It’s far worse—there is no asylum. It’s as if we are in a continuous free fall, with no bottom in sight, and the psychic effect of that plunge is really hard to bear. Don’t spend one moment of your precious mental energy thinking it’s you. Of course, you might be dealing with some personal issues, but really, who isn’t? The state of world is as fucked up as it seems, and we still haven’t reached the tipping point. If you’re feeling impotent in the midst of this madness, find a shrink if you think that will help and have at it. Sometimes just being able to talk to someone who is actually listening can go a long way toward strengthening and maintaining mental health. But if you want to bypass therapy, here’s the old rule that still applies: if you’re thinking you might be crazy, you’re not. Crazy people aren’t questioning their sanity—they are just crazy. Find healthy ways of maintaining your balance and don’t be dismayed by the increasingly blurry boundaries between fact and fiction—we’re in a maddening but unavoidable cycle that requires all of us to pay attention to how we do or don’t tell the truth and how we know the truth.

Which brings us to this week’s busy sky and its effect on what we used to call “regular routines.”

(1) It’s Mercury Retrograde time again; the second retrograde phase begins on July 7 and lasts until July 31. You’ve got at least a week to back up your computers, phones, any other mobile devices in need of protection, and all the files you would rather not lose. For those still new to Mercury Retrograde: these coming retro-weeks are not a good time to initiate new projects, but they are a great time to review what’s already in motion. Just be aware that three days before and after the retrograde can be problematic, so start those backup engines now.

(2) There’s a solar eclipse on July 2, at 10°38’ Cancer. Whenever the Moon overshadows the Sun, previously hidden emotions as well as previously undisclosed information comes to light. There is usually a six-week span in either direction—before or after the actual event—during which we feel the eclipse effect. From a collective/political perspective, it’s hard to know what information the July 2 eclipse may reveal about this administration because so much has already been revealed about Mr. Trump and his Gang of Hungry Ghosts. For the record, this eclipse happens within 1°46’ of Mr. Trump’s Mercury, which means it’s close enough not only to affect his state of mind, but also to reveal additional hidden personal information.

(3) There’s a lunar eclipse on July 16 at 24°04’ Capricorn—a position that is 1°17’ away from the Saturn/Pluto conjunction that occurs on January 12, 2020. Anticipate that information revealed by this eclipse will have a direct effect on what unfolds all next year. I realize I am not being specific, though quite frankly, it’s just impossible for me to imagine any more information being revealed. But…hey…it could be a Men in Black moment, when the entire Trump Gang rips off their human suits to reveal their true colonizing extraterrestrial identities. (For those readers around the globe, please forgive my American-centric perspective; should these parasitic aliens finally reveal their true identities and purposes, I’m sure other world leaders will also let their true colors show.)

Once again, this eclipse occurs opposite the Saturn/Venus midpoint of Mr. Trumps natal chart. Oh, my… Mr. Trump seems to be the lightning rod for all our eclipses. Remember the Great American Eclipse of August 2017—the one everyone thought would be terrific as it passed over the heartland of the United States? That eclipse was on his Rising Sign, illuminating what was behind the scenes and making him an even more potent symbol for all that’s wrong with the system.

These eclipses coupled with Mercury Retrograde are going to make daily life even more of a mess than it already is, especially when you factor in the fog of the ongoing Jupiter/Neptune square, a fractious interaction that debilities the ability to tell fact from fiction; the entire astral mess lasts for several weeks. So if you’ve got a need for things to run smoothly, let it go or get everything done in the next seven days; nothing is going to run smoothly and everyone is going to wish that weren’t the case.

The previous ways of understanding politics can’t make sense of this unique moment in United States history. This may be one of the reasons it feels like we are free-falling through a chaos that can no longer support our national identity as the country that welcomes the huddle masses yearning to be free. What we’ve yet to acknowledge and make right is that we are a nation that built its institutions on a foundation of genocide and slavery. White men have been exploiting people of color and women on this land since the colonial origins of the United States. We are approaching a tipping point—a social and cultural crescendo that is insisting we be absolutely clear about our values. Don’t forget, skywatchers, the American Revolution 2.0 is already gathering its force in anticipation of the United States Pluto Return in 2022. Are we going to continue to be a nation that exemplifies sheer brute force through unimaginable cruelty to those unable to defend themselves? Are concentration camps for children the way we demonstrate our principles? Or are we finally going to come into our own, align with our ideals, and be a nation that exemplifies a reverence for all life?

Sun Bursts: If you know your Ascendant and/or your Moon Sign, read that too.

Aries March 21-April 19
The solar eclipse happens at the deepest part of your Solar chart, the sector that’s all about home—where you physical dwell and where you live in your heart. So if you feel like hunkering down in bed for the week, have at it. On the other hand, you may be too busy moving furniture to make time to rest.

Taurus April 20-May 20.
As the Moon overshadows the Sun, you’re likely to find yourself find the midst of many conversations, none of which are superficial. These declarations of intimacy may be challenging at first, but if you stay focused on simply listening rather than reacting, you’ll hear the deeper truths being spoken.

Gemini May 21-June 21
Be prepared for the solar eclipse to reveal new financial data—but don’t worry. Even if the news isn’t good—and I’m not suggesting it’s guaranteed to be bad—this information will help you make realistic adjustments to your plans.  But before you move into action, digest and metabolize the facts.

Cancer June 22-July 22
The solar eclipse challenges you to take a new look at your public persona by showing you how certain personal habits are viewed by others. This is not about supplicating yourself to judgments about how to improve; it’s about a more objective view of how you present yourself so you can make modifications or adjustments if you wish.

Leo July 23-August 22
You must choose: Allow the eclipse to become a brain worm that compulsively chews on previously hidden information about all sorts of things or use this light for insight you might otherwise miss. Sounds like an easy choice, but some of what’s revealed could carry an emotional punch that throws you off your game.

Virgo August 23-September 22
The solar eclipse reveals information about how to best handle certain issues of community participation, ranging from being overextended in your efforts to make a difference to a strange form of paralysis that keeps you from becoming involved at any level. Use this new view to reconcile intention with action.

Libra September 23-October 22
The Moon overshadows the Sun in your Solar House of career and as it illuminates new information either about the mechanics of your current work position or about the reality of your aspirations, you’re certain to have an emotional reaction that overrides common sense. Stay grounded and steady—this is not the time for action.

Scorpio October 23-November 21
Call it a crisis of faith or a crisis of confidence, but whatever you name it, this solar eclipse process illuminates questions you’ve been avoiding. This isn’t about other people and their intentions. It’s about you and what you know to be true about your need to connect the big picture to your day-to-day reality.

Sagittarius November 22-December 21
The solar eclipse sheds light on aspects of your emotional attachment to your financial situation. It could be about something as simple as not tracking your spending or as complex as a compulsive need to know the value of your assets at all times. Let this light illuminate how you can modify your behavior and find greater balance.

Capricorn December 22-January 19
Partners could surprise you, especially if the solar eclipse reveals hidden information about their goings-on that you weren’t previously paying attention to. I’m not suggesting anything illicit; I’m pointing out that it’s foolish to think we know everything about the ones we love—there’s always more to learn.

Aquarius January 20-February 18
Even though the solar eclipse occurs in your Solar House of tasks and service, it will not eliminate the need to take care of a thousand chores. What it’s likely to do is reveal what lies beneath—what motivates your need to honor those responsibilities, especially when you are helping others to find greater clarity.

Pisces February 19-March 20
It’s about finding the freedom to express yourself, regardless of how others see you or might receive your creative endeavors. So let the light of this solar eclipse illuminate your attachment to being accepted and then allow yourself to follow your spirit without hesitation to create what makes you happy.
