The world continues to wobble this week as disturbances from July’s two eclipses continue to disrupt regular routines, and because there’s an ongoing need to adjust to a constantly changing reality, it’s difficult to stay focused. We’re in the powerful wake of yesterday’s lunar eclipse, which blew the lid off of several festering areas, personal and collective. We’ve been in this eclipse zone for several weeks—an eclipse effect can happen six weeks prior to or after the actual event—so the effect of the solar eclipse of July 2 extends back to the middle of May and the effect of yesterday’s lunar eclipse stretches out until nearly the end of August. This extended range makes it difficult to pinpoint exactly what an eclipse has brought to light. As a rule, eclipses reveal previously hidden information, especially solar eclipses, when the Moon blocks the sun’s light, day turns to night, and the shadows are easier to see. Solar eclipses bring out what is unconscious and illuminate what’s hidden from our awareness, whereas lunar eclipses are supposed to focus on conscious concerns and are usually associated with getting grounded in the day-to-day. But reality is so fluid these days, and so many secrets keep coming to light, that it’s getting harder and harder to identify how conscious concerns differ from unconscious ones.
The most important thing to remember about yesterday’s lunar eclipse is that it occurred extremely close to the degree of the upcoming Saturn/Pluto conjunction of January 12, 2020. Things set in motion during this eclipse cycle will come home to roost in about six months. It’s gonna be a crowded agenda on that day of reckoning and for the entire year.
But back to the current wobbles… the Mars/Uranus square, which has been a source of so much strife, is finally over by Saturday, and while I’m tempted to say it isn’t packing much of a wallop as it ends, it could surprise us, especially as the Moon opposes Mars and squares Uranus most of today and tomorrow. This T-Square is a volatile combination that is likely to express itself as highly charged emotions linked to equally intense opinions. It takes place in Fixed Signs, which translates into “that’s my story and I’m stickin’ to it.” Fixed Signs don’t change their opinions easily. T-Squares always involve one or more planets in each of three different Signs, all of which form hard angles to each other–squares and oppositions. (Imagine a clock with one or more planets at the 12, 3, and 6 positions and no planet at 9.) The solution to T-Squares can always be found in the qualities of the missing Sign—or the empty spot. In this case, that’s Scorpio, and although Scorpio is never a slouch when it comes to strong opinions, it does have an innate understanding of process—it’s the Sign of transformation, after all. So take a breath, make your point, but be mindful that others are just as intense about their point of view and do your best to listen.
On a positive note, the ongoing Venus/Neptune trine continues to create a dreamy landscape that has the potential to inspire creative endeavors and Saturn’s opposition to Venus can be harnessed to concretize creative ideas.
On a less positive note, Mercury Retrograde continues to be the source of too many communication snafus and traffic delays and detours. I don’t know about you, but my computer is working overtime to keep things steady. I am prepared, but I am also frustrated by how many times I have to reestablish my network, etc., etc., etc.
As the coming weeks unfold try to increase your awareness of how the eclipse effect is manifesting in your personal life. The ongoing revelations of new and previously hidden personal information may be harder to discern than the blatant revelations taking place from a collective or political perspective. Nevertheless, most of us are likely to be surprised by newly revealed personal details, whether those revelations are a subtle change of attitude or a dynamic thrust into a new view. And as always, try to be kind to yourself through this process as well as to your fellow travelers—we could all use a little love, peace, and understanding.
Sun Bursts: If you know your Ascendant and/or your Moon Sign, read that too.
Aries March 21-April 19
The stress and strain of deadlines, yours or others’, could coalesce into a tight schedule with very little leeway. Rather than devolve into overwhelm, take a step back and try to discern the difference between real and self-imposed goals. This isn’t about slacking off or self-judgment; it’s about realistic time management.
Taurus April 20-May 20.
There’s a chance of innocent conversations turning into fractious interactions, so rather than point a finger of blame, take a step back and try to consider how you can mediate a peaceful outcome that satisfies everyone’s needs, even yours. It may not be an easy process, but if you can find a win/win solution, you’ll feel a lot better about your role.
Gemini May 21-June 21
The old adage is “neither a borrower nor lender be” and while that’s been good advice, in the modern world it’s almost impossible to avoid either role—especially being a borrower. As your ongoing financial intensive continues, do your best to discover the underlying causes of your current circumstances. Examining the origins of your money issues could set you free.
Cancer June 22-July 22
Listen carefully to others even if some of what’s said feels a little too judgmental. Not every insight will be accurate, but if you can allow yourself to stay open, you’ll learn a lot about how your words and deeds are perceived by others. Those observations could deliver valuable information going forward, especially if you’re willing to be objective about your limitations and committed to personal growth.
Leo July 23-August 22
Be confident in your opinions but also stay open to the possibility that new, vital information could persuade you to a new point of view. I know that might sound contradictory, but it’s important to align yourself with the highest principles of self-awareness. Giving up a point of view isn’t synonymous with personal failure; it’s about continuing to learn from new information.
Virgo August 23-September 22
Rather than assuming what others are going to say, it might be wiser to listen with an open mind. Opinions can change, even in the middle of an ongoing dialogue. If those listening are closed to change, rather than repeat the same information, spend a moment considering how you can make your side of the story more accessible to whoever you need to hear you clearly.
Libra September 23-October 22
Sometimes throwing money at a situation can facilitate a change—and sometimes it can’t. When it can’t, we are required to go beneath superficial appearances to find the causal level of our dilemma. Translation: If you’re willing to dig deep, you will uncover vital information that will help you to eventually transform your current circumstances.
Scorpio October 23-November 21
I know you don’t think of yourself as the peacemaker; you’d rather people just appreciate your wisdom and get on with your plan. And while I can’t disagree, forcing your point of view won’t work. What’s required is creating a synthesis that allows all the participants to feel heard. You may not have the patience for this process, but if you stick to it, you’ll be pleased with the results.
Sagittarius November 22-December 21
Avoid letting any negative input morph into a brain worm. Lots of people are going to offer their opinion about what you should or shouldn’t do and while their intentions may be good, the road to hell…. I’m not suggesting you reject all that’s offered, but I am advising you to carefully consider all the solutions and trust yourself to arrive at a wholesome solution.
Capricorn December 22-January 19
You might consider taking a break—even if you can’t afford a vacation do something different each day after work or school, try something that will shift your perspective through new experiences. Take a hula class or spend time at an animal shelter helping to soothe the rescue animals. Engaging in new, positive activities will promote a positive effect on your awareness.
Aquarius January 20-February 18
Find a positive outlet for your frustration and you’ll find it much easier to handle the delays of the week. Doing so could also help shift stubborn positions, yours or others’, into a different framework. It isn’t necessary to relinquish what matters to you most. All that’s required is the willingness to find solutions that aren’t about blaming others for their limitations.
Pisces February 19-March 20
Since it isn’t possible to always satisfy the needs of others, rather than spending time trying to figure out how to make everyone happy, concentrate on what would make you happy. Don’t worry about being selfish—sometimes a little selfishness goes a long way toward creating healthy relationships with good, wholesome boundaries.
