Aquarium Age

Aquarium Age: January 9- 15

Put on your multidimensional beanies, polish the extraterrestrial antennae, and get ready to receive transmissions from universes known and unknown—perhaps even from a universe you’re creating as you read this and aren’t yet aware of. The source of this creative pulse is a Jupiter/Neptune square that goes into effect this week and lasts on and off for the next nine months. It’s a powerful configuration because it packs double intensity: Jupiter is in Sagittarius, an expansive Fire Sign that aims its arrows of curiosity at the heavens in search of new ideas; and Neptune is in Pisces, an equally expansive Water Sign that merges into the deep, filling every empty crevice it encounters with intuition. Another contributor to the doubled intensity of this square is both Jupiter and Neptune are currently transiting their Home Signs, a journey that amplifies their superpowers. And if all that isn’t enough, Jupiter and Neptune are co-Rulers of Pisces, the Sign of imagination, which intensifies their already intensified influence. Squares indicate action, and this square is likely to manifest as huge sparks and waves of creativity. The Jupiter/Neptune square offers a nice counter balance to the dominant astral tone of 2019, which is pretty much “all Capricorn, all the time,” because it allows a transformational perspective that reaches beyond the mundane day-to-day reality into the wild blue yonder and beyond.

And speaking of that Capricorn influence, Saturn, in Capricorn, sextiles Neptune, in Pisces, for much of the year. This is a positive interaction, and while subtle, it has the potential to ground some of that Jupiter/Neptune creativity into reality because it supports the requisite consistency to do whatever is necessary to actualize those visions.

You’ll need those multidimensional beanies with the ET antennae because both of these Neptunian combinations have the ability to stretch our human intuitive capacities beyond what we are used to. As part of this process, many could start to recognize the potency of their sixth sense, which might facilitate a keener awareness of the multitude of realities that surround us.

Recently I’ve been giving more thought to the Amy Adams character in Arrival, who embodies the capacity to transcend time; her ability to be in several time frames simultaneously allows her to communicate beyond the normal constraints of time and space. (I won’t spoil the movie for those of you who haven’t seen it.) I also revisited Interstellar, which likewise incorporates that idea of communication through different dimensions as well as the idea of time warps. Of course, my favorite theme of Interstellar is the notion that love transcends time and space—love as the multidimensional space traveler.

As I contemplated these two movies, I became increasingly comfortable with the idea of just how much this moment in our collective experience—a moment that is so intense and often unbearable because we are so divided on values, especially in how to value all living beings—is pushing us to transcend our usual linear thinking. I’ve often written that the present moment, created by the past, is simultaneously creating the future. This allows me to be less anxious about uncertainty, because it allows me to be a co-creator through my thoughts, words, and most importantly, my deeds. I may not experience the outcome I desire, but I have the power of being a participant. And part of what sustains my participation is imagination.

What’s required of us as humans is simple: love is the answer. But what many of us are learning as we learn to love at a deeper level is how complex the human condition actually is and how much effort it takes to grow, care for, and honor our shared humanity. Use the powerful imaginative planetary patterns of the next several weeks to consider your human condition and how you want to spend the precious currency of being a spirit in the material world.

Here’s a short film about what it means to be human.

Sun Bursts: If you know your Ascendant and/or your Moon Sign, read that too.

Aries March 21-April 19
Contemplate the nature of time, especially your tendency to think of time as a series of deadlines for conquering new territories. You don’t have to release the need to achieve—you can’t do that anyway because it’s an innate Aries quality. But if you can teach yourself to think about time differently, you’ll reduce your stress. For example, if you’re selling your house and anxious about the sale, consider the notion that the house is already sold in the future and all you’re doing is catching up with that reality.

Taurus April 20-May 20
Your internal universe is quite active and even though that might make it hard for you to settle into a meditative state, do your best to find moments for quiet contemplation. You don’t have to hit the “Zen” zone of enlightenment—all that’s needed is time to reflect on what’s transpired, especially in the last seven years as Uranus moved through your Solar House of introspection. In about two months, Uranus enters your Solar House of personality, catalyzing an identity crisis; get a head of this wave through increased self-awareness.

Gemini May 21-June 21
If you haven’t read Pema Chodron’s “When Things Fall Apart”, you might consider reading it now, because you’re in the midst of several structures reorganizing themselves. (That’s my way of saying things ain’t what they were, especially when it comes to financial stability.) Rather than resist this process, open to it. Let it teach you what you’re holding onto and why you’re holding on so tightly. This phase isn’t about ruin; it’s about transforming stagnant patterns that have been keeping you locked into habits that no longer serve.

Cancer June 22-July 22
Shifts are likely to be occurring in all your intimate relationships, from friends to family to professional partnerships and all other significant others, but especially in your relationship to yourself. You don’t really like change to happen to you. Like most of us, you like to choose your changes so you can control them. The problem with the current shifts is that you can’t control them. Rather than bemoan your fate, open to the shifts—make your mantra, “I love change; change is me.” If you do, you’ll have a much easier time

Leo July 23-August 22
Your life resembles a multidimensional whirlwind that branches out into a variety of interests, and while you think you don’t have time to do everything, think again. I’m not suggesting you can be in two places at once. But that being said, you do have the capacity to multitask, especially if you see your role as a leader who can delegate. The only thing you must be sure of is that your team members can handle the responsibilities, so pay attention to who you enlist and encourage, and if you’re wrong, make a correction and move on.

Virgo August 23-September 22
Although it may feel as if you are only finishing up the details of plans and projects already in motion, you are definitely moving into new creative territory, and the details you’re currently dealing with are necessary so you can have a clear path going forward. There’s no reason to be concerned about a schedule. Simply take care of all the things currently demanding your attention, and if inspiration won’t wait, make a list of all your ideas. You may not have time to work on them right now, but you will have plenty of time in the near future.

Libra September 23-October 22
The key to handling any intensity you may be feeling is to realize that you or those you love need nurturing, and part of that care must include a deep sense of security and safety. This isn’t only about financial or physical security, although that’s part of the process. This is fundamental about creating a deep psychic safety within. Please don’t misunderstand—this isn’t about monsters or demons, internal or external. This is about knowing what is spiritually true for you and then living in the context of those principals.

Scorpio October 23-November 21
You might feel the urge to hibernate, but it’s not likely that you’ll find the time to take a break. At the moment, your day-to-day activities and your responsibilities are almost overwhelming, especially all those conversations that are required to make sure everything runs smoothly. Even if they aren’t all work related communiques, you’re still on a fast track. Rather than fret about not being able to keep up, be bold and suggest a slightly more balanced pace. Everyone has a different rhythm, and honoring those differences is important.

Sagittarius November 22-December 21
You’re in the midst of an intense process that’s about following your intuition and grounding those insights into practical reality. It’s no easy feat trusting your hunches because you have to separate wishful thinking from clear insight. Then what’s required is the tangible application of those insights into grounded action. Here’s some help: If what you want to manifest has a huge personal charge, take a moment and consider your deepest intention. If your intent is clear of ego satisfaction, the material world will respond positively.

Capricorn December 22-January 19
I’m thinking it might surprise you if I characterize all those planets lining up in in Capricorn as a world of opportunity for you, maybe even going so far as to say, “the world is your oyster.” But this concentration of energy has the power to spin the wheel of your life in a new direction—all you have to do is be clear about where you want to move and why. I realize that may sound simplistic, but it isn’t. There’s nothing simple about an aggregation of planets in Capricorn—and you know that because you’re already contemplating how you want to handle this power.

Aquarius January 20-February 18
Your concerns about money are real, but you need to modify your thinking—worrying about money only creates more money worries. Whatever we focus our attention on becomes our reality, so shift your thinking. If you’ve made a lot of money before, activate that part of you that already knows how it feels. If you’ve never had money, think about how you can draw it in—but avoid a deficit mindset. Couple an abundant attitude with gratitude and hold fast to a positive mindset. I can’t guarantee millions, but I can promise progress.

Pisces February 19-March 20
I often extol the virtues of your highly sensitive nature, but I’m really not exaggerating—one of the challenges of being a Pisces is figuring out how to manage those sensitivities, most of which manifest themselves as the urge to merge. Rather than shy away from your intuitive skills, use them by envisioning what you would like to create. You can make it simple or complex—it matters not what form you choose. All that is important is the insight to know what you want to create and the discipline to envision it in a consistent, heartfelt way.
