Aquarium Age

The Aquarium Age: Jan. 25 – Feb. 1

By Ralfee Finn

I couldn’t be there. I couldn’t physically march with my sisters (and brothers) and add my body to the loud and resounding resistance to the Trump regime. But my heart and soul were marching and I wept as I watched the reports. I wept from the potency of our combined resistance to the evil, a resistance intent on grabbing back the power for the people, a resistance forged through a multitude of hearts. The fierce determination of the gatherings all around the world was a healing balm for those in despair that the depravity of this new regime would be accepted and normalized. For while there are mountains of work in front of us, there’s an ocean of consciousness determined to make a positive difference. The protest signs told the story—and I won’t repeat them all—but my favorite was: I’ve seen smarter cabinets at Ikea.  (I know Make America Kind Again! is the sign I should be happiest with, but…oh well…every so often you just have to indulge.)

This week there’s a dramatic shift in the sky that underscores the global mobilization of so many millions of people who do not support the mendacity of the Trump regime. Mars enters Aries, its Home Sign, on Saturday, January 28, amplifying the already militant mood. Both Mars and Aries are symbols for the warrior, and during this transit, which lasts until March 10, we’re likely to experience an increase in strident stands—our own or others’. We will start to feel its aggressive intensity by mid-February when Mars forms a square to Pluto as it moves into a conjunction to Uranus and an opposition to Jupiter, turning the drama of that seesaw effect even more intense—if that’s possible.

Today and tomorrow, the Moon, in Capricorn, conjuncts Pluto, squaring Jupiter and Uranus, creating even more tension, exacerbating strong reactions. Issues of control are primary under this influence, so when you can, try to remember that there is no actual control. But there is potential for reasonable responses based on consciousness and a clear intention to do no harm. It’s a big task to take on—living consciously—but also a noble one, particularly in the face of how much has to be done to restore the balance of power.

As you move through your week, put compassion above all else, and as you do, remember that it’s often kinder to tell the truth—even when it is tough-love truth—than to deny what must change.

Sun Bursts: If you know your Ascendant and/or your Moon Sign, read that too.

Aries March 21-April 19
You are on fire—able and willing to climb new mountains, reach new heights and move through any obstacles. Great…but before you leap into action, take a moment to contemplate the long-term consequences. Enthusiasm, no matter how potent or satisfying, can easily turn into a myopic zeal that fails to see how your actions affect those around you.

Taurus April 20-May 20
It would be wise to try to channel the intensity of Mars into deep inner work that allows you to delve diligently, if silently and privately, on self-improvement. Not all your realizations will be logical; some might even manifest through dreams. Simply concentrate on all those issues you would rather not have to deal with and you’ll make good use of this Martian phase.

Gemini May 21-June 21
This might actually be the moment for you to raise the mantle of political activity and jump feet first into organizing a run for office. I am serious…the moment to stop thinking and start doing is now. So rather than dream about what it would be like to work for what you believe in…work for what you believe in and treasure the opportunity to be you.

Cancer June 22-July 22
You are determined to succeed, and nothing is going to interfere with your efforts. Good…have at it…but don’t bite off more than you can chew, and when necessary don’t be too proud to ask for help. Remember to share your success generously with those who offer aid and you’ll be pleased with the outcome.

Leo July 23-August 22
It’s almost certain that Mars will fuel a desire to be bold, direct, and unstintingly honest as you share your opinions. I’m not advising you to hold back, but it might be wise to think before you speak. Often, opinions fueled by extravagance create a first impression that’s hard to correct further down the line.

Virgo August 23-September 22
Mars fuels the temptation to be ruthless in your criticism of others, so rather than devolve into harsh judgment of friends and family, or even harsher self-judgment, figure out how your ability to notice the details of what’s wrong can be transformed into creative ideas for improvement.

Libra September 23-October 22
Be prepared to be attracted to bold, dynamic partners and associates who have the potential to coalesce into an enthusiastic team intent on success. I’m not suggesting you invite everyone you meet to join, but I am advising you to pay attention to those who meet you with equal vitality.

Scorpio October 23-November 21
Mars bestows the desire to embrace the details of your life with a new-found vigor that promises to help you organize and revitalize all those areas of your life that have been stagnating because you haven’t had either the time or energy to pay attention. Welcome this Martian madness and you’ll spend its transit wisely.

Sagittarius November 22-December 21
You don’t have to apologize for being ambitious, you just have to put some muscle behind the desire to succeed. Rather than spend this transit of Mars taking risks that might not pay off, do your best to harness this Martian power and aim it at all those creative endeavors that need a little extra time and energy.

Capricorn December 22-January 19
Mars has the power to convince you to be entirely self-sufficient, but it’s important to remember that no one is an island.  Rather than feeling like you have to do everything yourself, reach out to those you love and ask for the help you need. You might be pleasantly surprised by the positive responses.

Aquarius January 20-February 18
Spend your word power carefully—Mars has the power to turn each and every conversation into a confrontation. So choose wisely by staying on topic and in the moment, and above all, speak from the heart. If you are authentic and have no desire to cause harm, even the difficult things you say will be heard.

Pisces February 19-March 20
Harness the determination of Mars to succeed and you will be able to make a mighty effort toward turning your financial situation in a positive direction. I’m not promising riches beyond belief, but if you take the Martian endurance and make it your own, you will find ways to revitalize your m-o-n-e-y situation.
