Aquarium Age

Aquarium Age: February 27 – March 5

By Ralfee Finn

For the next six days, an odd coalescence of planetary signatures resonates with an eccentric tone. The regular routines of daily life reflect this aggregation of disparate influences through an uneven pace that is simultaneously energizing and frustrating. Uranus is the source of this dynamic movement. It’s in the midst of a powerful transition as it completes its transit through Aries, ending March 6, and begins its transit through Taurus that same day. While Uranus, ever impatient in Aries, wants to break through to the other side and start its new cycle, this changeover has the potential to stir nostalgia for what was as well as anticipation (seasoned with more than a little anxiety) about what lies ahead, and the tension between past and future creates a true push-pull in the present moment. Uranus signifies surprises, which means we could see several sudden reversals of fortune over the course of the next few days, maybe even weeks. Don’t worry, not every surprising plot twist is negative; some might actually be beneficial. It’s a one-step-forward-two-steps-back pattern and the “back” steps could be a return to a more wholesome reality.

When Uranus throws its weight around, its presence is often mistaken for that of Mercury Retrograde. Uranus and Mercury are both related to electronics, which is why it’s easy to confuse one with the other. Surprisingly this week, even though Uranus is sending tremors through our various devices, Mercury Retrograde is the main source of electronic glitches—and that turns all communication on its head all week long.

Mercury begins its first retrograde phase of 2019 on March 5, the day before Uranus enters Taurus. As Mercury prepares for its “course correction,” everything within its vast domain starts to “slow down,” which adds yet another dimension to the push-pull of the week, feeding frustration and a sense of how impossible it is to get anything done. In anticipation of all sorts of computer breakdowns, from server problems to lost emails, it would be wise to start backing up important documents and other materials now. If you can, avoid launching anything new for the next several weeks, especially anything electronic. The multidimensional channels of invisible communication are going to be busy—very, very busy—and that translates into a loss of bandwidth for even for some of the most sophisticated systems. Mercury Direct begins on March 28, but it would be advisable to wait until April 2 to initiate new projects.

The next several weeks are sure to be weeks to remember. Transitions are seldom easy, and this one isn’t likely to break that rule—although surprising us by doing so would be in keeping with Uranus. But given all that’s been brought to a boil in the collective caldron as well as all that’s simmering in individual lives, my hunch is that the transition from the fire of Aries to the earth of Taurus is going to challenge emotional bodies to stay steady and calm. Those who are not rattled by the various manifestations of change would do well to help their fellow travelers manage these shifts. We are all in this together, whether we like that idea or not, and when we stand together on the wholesome ground of concern and compassion for each other and for all sentient beings, that unity creates an enormous potential to make energetic progress toward the good.

Sun Bursts: If you know your Ascendant and/or your Moon Sign, read that too.

Aries March 21-April 19
Breathe, please, as deeply as you can, and with each breath embrace the end of this journey. While there are no guarantees that it will be a happy ending or that all will go the way you desire, there are several indications that the path ahead is a more prudent one, less frenetic and less encumbered with obstacles.

Taurus April 20-May 20.
Make the time to nurture your spirit; the more deeply connected you feel to spirit, the easier it is to move forward into an uncertain future. Uranus’ transit through your Sign is guaranteed to provide surprising twists of fate and some of those startling plot twists could yield beneficial results.

Gemini May 21-June 21
The next several days present opportunities for you to stand your ground and walk your talk. Even if that sounds scary, don’t hesitate to be true to yourself. If you speak from the heart, others will hear you clearly and even if they disagree, they will honor and respect your choices.

Cancer June 22-July 22
Build your spiritual courage so that you can face the challenges that lie ahead with body, mind, and heart aligned in an intention to live life fully, no matter what life presents. Don’t worry; this advice isn’t offered because something terrible lies ahead. It’s meant to inspire an attitude that embraces the joy of living.

Leo July 23-August 22
Even though you’re used to being a leader, you are stepping into that role even more confidently. To be sure, there will be surprises and unforeseen events, but they won’t throw any monkey wrenches into your plans, especially if you remember that leaders lead by example. Just be the best you can be.

Virgo August 23-September 22
You’re really busy—so busy that you might forget to take care of yourself. Don’t let all your external tasks and responsibilities distract you completely. Make time for all the activities you need to feel strong and centered from the inside out—whether it’s meditation, yoga, or exercise, nurture yourself.

Libra September 23-October 22
Like your counterpart, Aries, take a deep breath and keep breathing deeply until you’ve grounded yourself in the realization that the emphasis is shifting away from challenges with significant others and heading toward a period of personal transformation. You’re integrating all you’ve learned—and that’s a lot.

Scorpio October 23-November 21
There’s no need to strategize about how you’re going to handle the future because there’s just no telling what the future will be. I don’t mean that in a scary way; I’m simply being honest. Rather than overanalyze what hasn’t happened, lighten up. You have the right stuff to deal with whatever happens.

Sagittarius November 22-December 21
Teamwork and cooperation are the keys to handling whatever situation you are facing, both in the current moment and in whatever circumstances you encounter going forward. Be realistic about your limitations and gather people around you who can fill in the missing pieces. It’s great being part of a team.

Capricorn December 22-January 19
There’s no sense worrying about what hasn’t happened. Remember the first rule of magic: whatever you focus your attention on becomes your reality. If you only worry, you just create more worry and there’s already plenty to worry about in this crazy world. So take a break and give your mind a rest.

Aquarius January 20-February 18
Just declare a truce and refuse to engage in any negative encounters, whether those interactions are at work or at home. You may be uncomfortable without confrontation, but this isn’t the moment to stir the pot. There will be plenty of time later, when the air is calmer, to hash out the details.

Pisces February 19-March 20
Celebrate your abundance by being grateful for all the wonderful aspects of your life. You may not have the money you need or desire, but that doesn’t negate the wonderful things you do have. Be grateful for friends, family, a fine mind, healthy body, or a loving heart—all of which are more valuable than gold.
