Olivia Newton-John

Olivia Newton-John’s appeal is timeless. With a career spanning more than four decades she remains a vibrant, creative individual that is adored by fans across the world.  Her U.S. album debut, Let Me Be There, produced her first top-ten single of the same name. This proved to be only the beginning of a very exciting career.

 

In 1978, her starring role in “Grease” catapulted Olivia into super-stardom. This film’s best-selling soundtrack featured the duets "You’re The One That I Want" and "Summer Nights," with John Travolta, as well as her mega-hit, "Hopelessly Devoted To You." To date “Grease” remains the most successful movie musical in history.

 

With more than 100 million albums sold, Olivia’s successes include four Grammy Awards, ten #1 hits, and an Emmy for her songwriting.  Davis Arts Council is thrilled to welcome Olivia Newton-John to close out the 2012 summer season!
